Olympic Parade

We held our own New Windsor School Olympic parade today.

Each class was given the choice of the country they would represent...New Zealand was quickly snapped up and we ended up with South Africa.

We talked about South Africa and how we as a class would be able to represent them. We talked about how their flag had changed and the reasons for this. We discovered that their sporting colours were different from their flag - but not as different as New Zealand's.

We decided that we'd try to wear yellow and green, create a flag and make a lion mask in the colours we were going to wear.

We discovered that New Windsor School didn't have a South African flag...WHAT WERE WE GOING TO DO! Some quick problem solving and collaboration solved that problem - we'd make our own. Thanks you Ms Corbett for bringing a flag to school that we could also fly on a pole!
